Margaréta Petržalová weaves into each of her paintings the substance of her dreams in order to show us through them what many of us forget: that a life that is filled with dreaming, that is filled with the creation of ever new dream images, is a life for which such a life itself is a dream come true.

A series of paintings called “Miss Maxima” tells the story of a woman who seeks the maximum in life for what it brings. Hedonistic pleasures, journeys into the unknown , a journey to herself. Miss Maxima creates, follows herself, and never turns aside from her goal. The series captures the woman/women of the goddess and discusses the otherworldly, the powerful, the beautiful, and the eternal in ourselves.

Margaréta Petržalová (1993)
She graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts under the guidance of Prof. Ivan Csudaia. The center of action in her paintings is always a person. She almost always works with a living model, which she replaces with a subjugated authority that we do not know. During her studies, Petržalová worked with themes related to her generation, in which she moves both in real and virtual form. Currently, she works with autobiographical motifs. These paintings were created directly for the exhibition, her understanding of the stereotype of the other flower woman suppresses her natural aggressiveness, so characteristic of men, in flowers women disappear, at the same time in their gentleness there is their strength. Margaréta is a finalist of the prestigious award – Painting of the Year, she lives and works in Smolenice.

The project was supported by the Slovak art fund.
