The two main characters of this intimate exhibition plot are the playful Artemis – a beautiful and outrageous goddess and Andrea Barto\u0161ov\u00e1 – an excellent painter. Andy and her work is both personal and generational for me – it is one of the very first works I dared to interpret, giving me a glimpse into the then unknown but exciting world of contemporary painting. Time has clearly proven that it was not a coincidence, beginner’s luck or an isolated glimpse of potential, because the painter has matured and her work is now a stable part of the Slovak art scene. In their emergence after 2000, they were part of or the cause of the great boom and revival of interest in the current form of “pure” painting (without overlapping into other media), which successfully and progressively metabolized the digital image as a painting template and a great challenge of its time. S\u00fa\u010dasn\u00e1 podoba tvorby Andy Barto\u0161ovej je v nie\u010dom \u00faplne in\u00e1, ale v nie\u010dom st\u00e1le podobn\u00e1 svojim za\u010diatkom – energick\u00e1, n\u00e1padit\u00e1, \u017eivotaschopn\u00e1 a v\u00fdsostne maliarska. Autorka suver\u00e9nne a cie\u013eavedome vytrvala vo svojom \u00fasil\u00ed a po mnoh\u00fdch rokoch sa vr\u00e1tila k figur\u00e1cii. Covid izol\u00e1cia, nemo\u017enos\u0165 ma\u013eova\u0165 sc\u00e9ny a postavy zo \u017eivota, a tento intenz\u00edvne seba\/reflex\u00edvny \u010das, to s\u00fa d\u00f4vody, ktor\u00e9 pravdepodobne obr\u00e1tili jej umeleck\u00fa pozornos\u0165 naplno ku klasike, ku kult\u00farnej pam\u00e4\u0165ovej kon\u0161tante a nad\u010dasovosti v podobe antick\u00fdch zdrojov. Artemis a \u010fal\u0161ie zn\u00e1me postavy pozvan\u00e9 do n\u00e1\u0161ho \u010dasu z antick\u00e9ho mytologick\u00e9ho pante\u00f3nu (Herm\u00e9s, Hypnos, Hekat\u00e9), form\u00e1lne vych\u00e1dzaj\u00fa zo zn\u00e1mych a zau\u017e\u00edvan\u00fdch soch\u00e1rskych spodobnen\u00ed. Bohovia a bohyne s\u00fa tu v\u0161ak autorsky modifikovan\u00e9 a “okomentovan\u00e9”, no a samozrejme u\u017e aj pohodlne zab\u00fdvan\u00e9 v s\u00fa\u010dasnosti. Dostali nov\u00fa dynamiku a kolorit, ale najm\u00e4 nov\u00e9 v\u00fdznamy a atrib\u00faty, ktor\u00e9 s\u00fa pre dek\u00f3dovanie obsahu podstatn\u00fdmi detailmi, odkazuj\u00facimi na pr\u00edtomnos\u0165 alebo bud\u00facnos\u0165. Vybran\u00e9 postavy monument\u00e1lne nap\u013a\u0148aj\u00fa a\u017e pohlcuj\u00fa form\u00e1t ma\u013eby. Ich podoba je v\u00fdsledkom uvo\u013enen\u00e9ho, radostn\u00e9ho a suver\u00e9nneho maliarskeho prednesu. <\/p>\n

V\u00fdstavu obrazov na pl\u00e1tnach op\u00e4\u0165 dop\u013a\u0148aj\u00fa aj obrazy na v\u00e1zach. Modra a keramika patria predsa nerozdelite\u013ene k sebe! Keramika n\u00e1s ako \u013eudstvo sprev\u00e1dza od prvopo\u010diatkov, pretrvala a je aktu\u00e1lna neust\u00e1le. Nakoniec, najviac inform\u00e1ci\u00ed o podob\u00e1ch antickej ma\u013eby m\u00e1me pr\u00e1ve zo starovekej ma\u013eby na trvanliv\u00fdch v\u00e1zach, preto\u017ee z monument\u00e1lnej ma\u013eby sa nezachovalo takmer ni\u010d. Andrea Barto\u0161ov\u00e1 experimentuje s pigmentovou ma\u013ebou na zakrivenom povrchu keramiky u\u017e od roku 2019. Pokra\u010duje vo svojich mot\u00edvoch, tu ale v \u00faplne inej technol\u00f3gii. Jednotliv\u00e9 k\u00fasky vo v\u00fdsledku origin\u00e1lne sp\u00e1ja do “korpusov” – keramick\u00fdch st\u013apov\u00fdch objektov. <\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/span>Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava (1998 – 2005). The beginnings of her career were focused on the figurative tradition (portraiture, figurative compositions) and its innovation (various popular and film characters such as Mickey Mouse or Blairwitch), through which she mastered the medium of acrylic painting. Later on, more personal subjects were added (such as the Twins), where she worked with more courage on large pictorial formats. During her school days, which were an important stepping stone to the future, she was lucky to meet people and classmates who were similar in generation and thinking (E. \u0160ille, R. Sedla\u010d\u00edk, D. Baffi, M. Czinege, J. Mrvov\u00e1). Andrea Barto\u0161ov\u00e1 is a passionate painter with a proverbial Yugoslavian temperament. She alternates figurative compositions with her interest in landscape (especially urbanized), or more abstract paintings made with a spatula “in one breath”. “As soon as a story has been ‘retold’, I alternate the subject matter.” In 2008 she won the VUB Painting of the year Competition, and in 2007 she won 2nd place. In total, she has been in the finals of this prestigious painting competition six times. From 2003 to 2009 she was part of the Tranzit SK collective.
